Sign up to be a volunteer at World Languages Day!

We (Don't) Need Your Help!

We've had such an overwhelming response that we actually have more volunteers than we need for 2011, and have closed volunteer sign-up. Thank you for your interest!

Who can help?

  • Any MSU undergrad or graduate student who has an interest in learning about other cultures and languages.
  • Students with experience in MSU language courses, study abroad, and majors related to languages or international relations are especially needed.

What's in it for me?

  • Free t-shirt
  • Free lunch (if you volunteer for longer than four hours and are there over the lunch hour)
  • Certificate verifying volunteer hours
  • But most of all - a lot of fun!

What kinds of volunteer jobs are there?

Volunteers are needed in many different capacities, including

  • Set-up
  • Participant registration
  • Session room monitors
  • Tech/AV help
  • Staff room/presenter check in
  • Registration area and information table
  • Escorts around session sites
  • General "go-fer" help
  • Tear-down

What would I have to do?

  • Sign up on our website with your contact and availability information. We will take volunteers until all positions have been filled or until the first orientation meeting, whichever comes first.
  • Attend one of the following mandatory training sessions:
    • Monday, April 11, 2011 5-6pm (Room N-102, Business College Complex)
    • Tuesday, April 12, 2011 5-6pm (Room N-130 Auditorium, Business College Complex)
  • Volunteer for a block of at least three hours on April 16, 2011

I'm interested! Now what?
