We Need Your Help!

We need MSU student volunteers to help with logistics on World Languages Day. This is a great opportunity to help show off your Spartan pride and meet potential new Spartans!

Who can help?

  • Any MSU undergrad or graduate student who has an interest in learning about other cultures and languages.
  • Students with experience in MSU language courses, study abroad, and majors related to languages or international relations are especially needed.

What's in it for me?

  • Free t-shirt
  • Free lunch (if you volunteer for longer than three hours)
  • Certificate verifying volunteer hours

What kinds of volunteer jobs are there?

Volunteers are needed in many different capacities, including

  • Set-up
  • Participant registration
  • Session room monitors
  • Tech/AV help
  • Staff room / presenter check in
  • Registration area and information table
  • Escorts around session sites
  • General "go-fer" help
  • Tear-down

What would I have to do?

  • Sign up on our website with your contact and availability information. We will take volunteers until all positions have been filled or until the first orientation meeting, whichever comes first. Update 3-31-08: We have had a tremendous volunteer turnout and are no longer in need of volunteers unless you are an early morning person. We could still use a few people from 7:00-10:00am.
  • Attend one of the following mandatory training sessions:
    • Monday, April 7, 5-6pm (Business College Complex N-103)
    • Tuesday, April 8, 5-6pm (Business College Complex N-021)
  • Volunteer for a block of at least three hours on April 12
