Program Summary
This study examines how a doctoral student from a disadvantaged urban background adjusted language use during a presentation skills course. After using modified Afro-American Vernacular for his first presentation, he switched to Standard American English for his final presentation. Possible reasons are analyzed from the perspective of "language as/for/in/of development."
