As many teachers have adopted a more communicative approach to language instruction, pair and group work activities are becoming regular features in the language classroom. Many people refer to such pair and group work activities as tasks. While many different definitions of task have been proposed, a task can be defined simply as a communicative activity in which participants must exchange or seek information to accomplish a goal.
