RIA Alternatives

Potential Alternatives to CLEAR RIA Tools

The table below offers websites and products that may serve as reasonable alternatives for the various Rich Internet Applications. This list was compiled by a group of people familiar with the RIAs and with current trends in education technology.

CLEAR has compiled this list of alternatives for the various Rich Internet Applications as a courtesy to its stakeholders and users. CLEAR has not evaluated the alternative tools listed below, nor has CLEAR reviewed the corresponding terms of use. The inclusion of an alternative tool in the table below does not indicate, and should not imply, an endorsement by Michigan State University, the Center for Language Education and Research, the Department of Education, or the Federal Government. Users, schools, and districts should exercise diligence when reviewing Terms of Service agreements for potential RIA replacements and follow established school and district policies for evaluating and approving online educational services and mobile applications.

If you have experience with any of the listed tools, or know of another option we should include, we invite you to contact us at clear@msu.edu to share your input.

We have also posted a 4-question survey to help us understand your needs in relation to the RIAs. We would be grateful if you could take 1-2 minutes to share your thoughts by responding to the survey.
