This free CD-ROM targets specific pragmatic aspects of German based on conversational exchanges between native speakers. The modules include photographs that help to establish a context for the exchanges.
The modules focus on high frequency communicative functions such as: asking for directions, asking for permission, expressing preference, and giving compliments.
Some possible uses for the modules are as: a part of a placement exam, a part of a comprehensive exit exam, a part of a course's instructional materials, a pre-departure assessment for study abroad students, and an overall evaluation of teaching assistant candidates.

Compatibility Information:
This CD-ROM runs on Windows, and on Macintosh computers with PowerPC processors. This CD-ROM will not work on OS X running on Intel processors. In order to make this CD-ROM run on the Intel Macintosh, the computer must run Windows using virtualization software such as Bootcamp or Parallels.
